COPS – Police Training

Cops

COPS is short for Coordination, Oxygen (fitness), Power (sprint, jump), and Strength. You will be tested in the different disciplines so that you will be able to follow your progress during the course. (The subject is especially for students who wish to join the Danish police force, but it is open to all students.)

The physical entrance exam for the Police requires a good basic form, as demands are placed on all the ways the body can work.

We have therefore developed the subject COPS, which stands for:

  • Coordination
  • Oxygen (condition)
  • Power (sprint/jump)
  • Strength

The subject can be combined with our Police Line, where we regularly test you against the physical entrance exam, and in this way you can work purposefully towards your dream of becoming a Police Officer. The subject can run as an independent subject or as a mixture of one or more of our physical training subjects.

We have experienced that a mixture of more specific subjects gives you good opportunities for developing the basic form and training motivation, so that it fits perfectly into your training.

We train both indoors and outdoors. We are in the strength training room, train for tests in the sports hall and also use the running track and the forest as our permanent training facilities.

We have both a focus on strength and fitness. Either during runs with interval training and longer distances or when cycling, where you can also train cardio in a way that does not strain the system in quite the same way as during running.

Our experience with COPS is that many of our students who are not interested in the police also choose the subject, as the subject’s variation in structure and training makes it attractive to everyone.
