Adventure Trip

Austria & Alps

In the spring, the entire school goes to the Alps on an adventure trip. Here we challenge ourselves with many different adventure activities in beautiful surroundings. Beneath our hotel the great river gushes through the valley and the mountains rise to all sides. You will get the chance to challenge yourself at your own level, regardless of your previous experiences or not.

River Rafting in large 8-12 person inflatable boats down the rushing white water river. Our guides will teach us all the commands to use as well as the procedure if capsizing.

Canyoing. We start by wearing wet suits and climbing harness. Then we drive to the top of the river, where we are dropped off at a waterfall. From here we follow the water through a gorge e.g. down naturally created waterslides or rappelling.

MTB. We bring the school’s mountain bikes and ride different routes for all levels.

Mountain climbing. We climb a mountain of 2500 meters. This is a trip of 8-10 hours. During the trip we take breaks to enjoy the beatiful view.

Climbing. We rock climb on the neighbouring mountains close to the hotel.

A trip to Austria has a carbon footprint of 97 kg CO2e per person. We included a climate contribution in the price of the trip.

Together in a foreign environment

I enjoy the opportunity to show these activities to the students. On the trip we share the fact that we are in a foreign environment, and the joint student group will experience – and work together to handle the challenges that Austria’s mountains can expose us to.

This trip means a lot to me, and it is always a trip that ties our student group closer together. Furthermore, it gives the individual student time to reflect on their own abilities.
