Do you want to experience democracy up close—accompanied by the unique spirit of the Danish folk high school?
In June 2027, we are heading to Bornholm to attend Folkemødet (The People’s Political Festival).
It will be a week filled with debates, communal singing, political discussions, new perspectives, and encounters with people you would otherwise never have met.
Before we leave, we will prepare by planning and hosting our own events and diving into the themes and debates shaping this year’s festival. In this way, you won’t just be a participant—you will become an active part of democracy’s greatest meeting place. On Bornholm, we will stay in tents and base ourselves at the “Højskolernes Telt” (Folk High Schools’ Tent), which serves as the daily hub for exciting debates, communal singing, inspiring guests, and plenty of that special folk high school atmosphere. And yes—the legendary DJ battles between politicians and opinion-makers are, of course, part of the experience too.
A week defined by community, engagement, new perspectives, and experiences that extend far beyond Bornholm.
